Since David Stern and the NBA implemented the age minimum rule a couple of years ago, players that would have otherwise been lottery picks out of high school, are required to attend college for at least 1 year. I have my opinion on the "real" reason behind that rule but I won't go into that right now. Last year's class of '07 had a number of players that would have arguably been lottery picks if they would have been allowed to make the leap straight out of high-school. Those players are (in no particular order) 1. Michael Beasley (Kansas State), 2. Derrick Rose (University of Memphis), 3. Eric Gordon (Indiana University), 4. O.J. Mayo (USC), and 5. Kevin Love (UCLA). All of the players mentioned have made an instant impact on their respective teams this year and more than likely will bolt for the league after the season is over. Since the trend of "one and done" is going to be more prevalent now, it seems to me that it would make it more difficult for coaches to build a winning program? In the meantime, we can look forward to seeing these players ball out for at least a year. I'm looking forward to March...

I can read between the lines and I definitely feel you on that.
Good commentary! Need to get your message to college coaches and/or assistants. Also need to appeal to the players to solicit comments regarding their off court activites, including hobbies and stance on education.
