Holiday, Roe, & Pritchard Shine On National TV

Last night on ESPN 2, St. Edward (Lakewood, OH) beat Campbell Hall (North Hollywood, CA) in OT 78-73. Campbell Hall, ranked #25 in the ESPN High Elite 25, lead much of the way before #11 St. Edward made a late run in the second half. UCLA bound Jrue Holiday showed why he is considered to be one of the top players in the Class of
2008. He started the game strong, displaying a wet jumper and showing how effortless it was for him to get to the hole. Unfortunately, his 31 point 10 rebound effort wasn't enough to get a W for his squad. While Holiday performed as expected, the player that really impressed me was St. Edward PF Delvon Roe. The Michigan St. signee showed how versatile his game is by putting up 18 points, 12 boards, 6 assists and 5 blocked shots. Roe has nice footwork down low on the block and is fundamentally sound. Coach Izzo (who was in attendance last night) is getting a player who not only has raw talent but a work ethic to match. Indiana bound, Tom Pritchard, also put up impressive numbers by recording 23 points, 14 boards, and 5 blocked shots. Pritchard, built like a D1 tight end, dominated the inside and was big in helping his squad make a run by scoring 17 of his 23 points in the second half.
