Durand Scott commits to be a Miami Hurricane.

Durand Scott, a 6'5, 180 lb shooting guard out of Rice High School in New York, NY., will attend the University of Miami this Fall to play his college ball for the Hurricanes. During his senior season at Rice, the spotlight wasn't focused on Scott, but by winter's end, the Miami-bound swingman had helped Rice to the state Federation Class AA title and the CHSAA crown while making a name for himself. Scott is a guy who plays with great intensity and energyhas a great motor. He's a versatile player and the more you extend the court, the more effective he's going to be. Also, this kid has the ability to slice to the basket and make off balance shots. He's an improved outside shooter but that's still an area he has to work on if he wants to contribute as a freshman with the Canes.
