Joseph Young (6'2, 180 lb. shooting guard out of Jack Yates High School in Houston, TX.) is a member of the 2010 recruiting class and he has committed to Providence and was set to enroll this Fall. Joseph has now asked for a release, and its been reported that his request for a release is due to an ill family member.
Joseph's father, Michael Young said that the request has been denied by Providence and that Joseph plans to appeal the decision. The National Letter of Intent Program rules state that an appeal must be made within 30 days after an institution has denied a release request. The appeals process takes six-to-eight weeks.
