Jackson Simmons to Walk-on at UNC

Jackson Simmons (6'7, 200 lb small forward out of Smoky Mountain High School in Sylva, N.C) is a member of the 2011 recruiting class and has chosen North Carolina as his school of choice for the 2011-12 basketball season.

Simmons was selected to the All-Appalachian Athletic Conference and All-WNC teams last season after averaging 19 pts. and 13 boards a game for the AAC regular-season champion Mustangs.

Simmons turned down scholarship offers from Appalachian State, Charlotte, Davidson, Duquesne, Old Dominion and Richmond, among other mid-major programs to join the rich basketball tradition at UNC.
