Martin Breunig (6'9, 235 lb. power forward out of St. John's-Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, WI. by way of Leverkeusen, Germany) has committed to Washington for the 2011-12 basketball season. He committed to Maryland in February and signed in the Spring. Once Maryland's Coach Gary Williams retired in April, Breunig chose to request a release from his letter of intent which allowed him to commit to Washington.
Breunig brings some much needed help on the interior for Washington. His face-up mid-range game for a guy his size is excellent -- he can cause the defense problems with his solid jump shot. Once he develops more of a post game to utilize his physical talents, his overall game will improve.
