Boyd commits to New Mexico State




Joe Boyd (6'8, 210 lb. power forward out of Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, AZ.) is a member of the 2013 recruiting class and he has committed to New Mexico State, beginning the 2013-14 basketball season.

With Boyd's size and ability to score in the painted area of the floor, he could possibly come in immediately to contribute at New Mexico State.

Boyd committed to New Mexico State over Weber State and he also took visits to USC and UNLV earlier this Summer.

Player Spotlight: F. Danuel House



Danuel House (6'6, 185 lb. small forward out of Hightower High School in Missouri City, TX., by way of Sugarland, TX.) is a member of the 2012 recruiting class. House has yet to select a school of his choice.

He is being recruited by the likes of Georgetown, Kansas, Texas, Houston, Baylor, and Ohio State to name a few.

Forte will join Texas Tech



Cameron Forte (6' 7, 195 .b, small forward out of McClintock High School in Tempe, AZ.) has committed to Texas Tech for the 2011-12 basketball season.

Forte hit the scene in a big way, leading McClintock High School to the Arizona Class 4A state title in 2010 and a second place finish in the 4A Desert Sky Region in 2011. As a senior, he averaged a state-best 36 pts. and 13 boards this past season.

Forte had been receiving strong interest from Washington, Texas, Colorado, Saint Mary's, Fresno State, Seton Hall, UTEP, Northern Colorado and UC-Riverside before signing with Texas Tech.

Christon commits to Xavier



Semaj Christon (6'2, 180 lb. point guard out of Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH., by way of Cincinnati, OH.) has committed to Xavier for the 2012013 basketball season.

Christon is a scoring point guard with great athleticism and exceptional court vision. Christon has the talent to mature into a college superstar.

Christon selected Xavier over Illinois, Georgetown, Cincinnati, and Providence.

Artis is headed to Westwood



Dominic Artis (5'11, 165 lb. point guard out of Findlay Prep. in Henderson, NV.) has committed to UCLA for the 2012-13 basketball season.

Do not let the size fool you. Artis is a true point guard and general on the floor, with great passing abilities. Coach Howland has a history of producing NBA caliber point guards at UCLA, and he has a chance to add one more to the list once Artis arrives in Westwood.

Artis selected UCLA over California, Florida State, Oregon, Georgia Tech, Baylor and Florida International.

Mann stays home



Charles Mann (6'4, 190 lb. guard out of Union Grove High School in McDonough, GA.) has committed to Georgia for 2012-13 basketball season.

Mann averaged 22 pts. as a junior at Union Grove High School. This summer, he transferred to Milton High School located in Alpharetta, GA. for his senior year.

Mann has nice size for either guard spot, he is a superb scorer and distributor of the pill. He’s a nice addition, one that will add value to Georgia.

Mann chose the Bulldogs over UConn, Florida State, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech.

Cook commits to UNLV



Daquan Cook (6'2, 160 lb. point guard out of Digital Harbor High School in Baltimore, MD) has committed to UNLV for the 2012-13 basketball season.

Cook averaged 21 pts., 7 boards and 6 dimes, while leading the Rams to the Class 2A state championship and earning Baltimore Sun second-team All-Metro honors. Look for Cook to log minutes as a true Freshman at UNLV during the 2012-13 season.

Daquan selected UNLV over Washington, Seton Hall, Temple, South Florida, and Maryland.

Davis is headed to Xavier



Myles Davis (6'3, 190 lb. shooting guard out of Notre Dame Preparatory High School in Fitchburg, MA., by way of Jersey City, NJ.) has committed to Xavier for the 2012-13 basketball season.

Davis averaged 13 pts. and 4 dimes this past season at Notre Dame Preparatory. Once he get hot, he is difficult to get a handle on. He is capable of hitting consecutive shots from various spots on the floor, which can really make it difficult on the defense.

He committed to Xavier over Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Virginia, Villanova, and Virginia Tech.

Martin stays close to home



Kenny Martin (6'9, 210 lb. forward out of Raymond S. Kellis High School in Glendale, AZ.) has verbally committed to Arizona State for the 2012-13 basketball season.

Martin averaged 15 pts., 14 boards and 5 blocks as a starter this past season at Kellis. He can score with efficiency from mid to close range and on the defensive end he battle for every loose ball.

He committed to Arizona State over Syracuse, St. Mary's, USC, Nevada and Oregon State.

Rock Chalk, Jayhawk


Conner Frankamp (6'0, 155 lb. point guard out of Wichita North High School in Wichita, KS.) has committed to Kansas for the 2013-14 basketball season.

Frankamp averaged 27 pts. during his sophomore season at North High School and was an All-Metro selection. Frankamp was also was named to the U16 USA Basketball team and played in Cancun, Mexico, with the national team last month. Frankamp is most known for his ability to score. He set the City League single-game scoring record of 52 pts. last season during a double-overtime loss at Northwest.

Scales is a Tiger


Aaron Scales (6'9, 260 lb. power forward out of High Point Christian Academy in High Point, NC by way of Kernersville, NC.) has committed to Missouri for the 2012-13 basketball season.

Scales is a "space eater" in the paint. When guards come into the painted area of the floor, they are turned away by Scales' shot blocking ability. He will not come to Missouri regarded as a highly touted prospect, but his size and ability to control the paint will be much needed.

He chose Missouri over Washington State, East Carolina and Cleveland State.

Dayton Boddie (6'3, 190 lb. shooting guard out of El Camino High School in Oceanside, CA.) is a member of the 2012 recruiting glass has has committed to UC Riverside for the 2012-13 basketball season.

Boddie has a nice midrange game -- he is a physical guard that should come in right away competing for playing time at UC Riverside next Fall.

York is a Wildcat



Gabe York (6'1, 155 lb. shooting guard out of Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, CA.) is a member of the 2012 recruiting class and has decided to attend Arizona in the Fall of the 2012 basketball season.

York averaged 19 pts., 4 boards, 3 dimes and 3 cookies this past season for the Orange Lutheran Lancers, while leading them to a record of 27-7. He can really score with the best of them when needed -- his shoots with range and efficiency.

He selected Zona' over Marquette, Washington, UConn, Kansas and Memphis.

Player Spotlight: PG. Sam Cassell Jr.



Sam Cassell Jr. (6'4, 170 lb. point guard out of Notre Dame Preparatory High School in Baltimore, MD.) is a member of the 2012 recruiting class. He has yet to pick a school of choice beginning next Fall, but he is being looked at by the like of Florida, UNLV, Florida State, Missouri, Clemson, South Florida, and Butler to name a few.

Cassell Jr. is the son of former 3-time NBA Champion, Sam Cassell Sr. As you watch the video below, Cassell Jr's. game resembles that of his father when it comes to their unique shooting touch from the perimeter and their ability to take over games when needed.

At Bryant’s basketball camp this week he participated in various activities with some of the camp’s participants. Check this though, several critics have questioned Kobe Bryant's ability to rise up and throw it down. This video just might silence those critics until the NBA lockout is over -- at this rate, who knows when that will be.

Player Spotlight: G. Allerik Freeman



Allerik Freeman (6'4, 210 lb. guard out of Olympic High School in Charlotte, NC.) is a member of the 2013 recruiting class and he has yet to make a decision on where to attend school in the Fall of 2013.

He holds offers from the likes of Baylor, Miami (FL), Oklahoma, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Xavier, Florida, NC State, Georgetown and Tennessee to name a few.

Freeman can play multiple positions on the floor if needed, he is a skilled scorer -- with his size and athleticism he is ready for division 1 basketball.

Goodman to Texas Tech



Jordan Goodman (6'9, 210 lb. small forward out of Arlington County Day School in Jacksonville FL. by way of Upper Marlboro, M.D.) is a member of the 2012 recruiting class and he has committed to Texas Tech for the 2012-13 basketball season.

Goodman formerly pledged with Rutgers but re-opened his recruitment in May. He was once also committed to Georgetown at one point and de-committed from them as well.

With Goodman's size and length, he should make an impact in Coach Billy Gillispie's system immediately.

Wood commits to UNLV



Christian Wood (6'8, 180 lb. forward out of Findlay College Prep. in Henderson, NV. by way of Palmdale, CA.) has committed to UNLV for the 2013-14 basketball season.

Wood is extremely athletic for a player of his size. His smooth release and soft touch around the basket comes as a surprise to many -- he can make a strong impact at UNLV upon his arrival.

He also considered USC Trojans.
