Champaign Illinois has something to look forward to in the 2009-10 season.

D.J. Richardson, a 6'4, 180 lb shooting guard from Peoria, IL. will attend Illinois this Fall. During Richardson's senior year at Findlay Prep in Henderson NV. he averaged 12 points, 4 boards and 3 dimes per game for Findlay. The Illini will lose to graduation, starting guards Chester Frazier and Trent Meacham plus wing Calvin Brock. With those guys not returning next season, look for Richardson to play quality minutes at the one or two guard positions this upcoming season. Richardson has the mentality of a point guard and he absorbs contact well while finishing plays with solid concentration at the cup. Also, he has a quick first step and once he gets his shoulders by his defender -- it's a done deal!
