Prep star Latavious Williams commits to play basketball for Memphis Tigers.

Latavious Williams, a 6'7, 195 power forward out of Christian Life Center Academy in TX., will attend the University of Memphis this Fall to play for the Memphis Tigers. This kid will be a great addition to the squad, and look for him to fill the void at the power forward spot with the departure of senior starter Robert Dozier. Williams has the athletic ability to dominate the boards on both ends of the court. However, he does not have a great post-up game and needs to improve his touch around the hoop. If he plays as a power forward, he needs to add a jump hook to his game. The only question with Williams, a Starkville, Miss., native, is whether he will be qualified academically to play next season. If eligible, Williams should provide immediate help and give Memphis one of the top frontcourts in America if Shawn Taggart returns for his senior season.
