Mike Bruesewitz (pronounced BRUISE-uh-wits) a 6'8, 220 lb power forward from Henry Sibley High School in Mendota Heights, MN., will attend the Uninversity of Wisconsin to play basketball for the Badgers beginning in the fall 0f 2009. Bruesewitz is a skilled and tough blue collar player that can finish well in transition because he often out-runs the opposing big men down the floor. Bruesewitz can handle the pill on the perimeter and is a solid passer. He has a great feel for the game, where to put the ball, and can deliver it with either hand. Bruesewitz does take and make the open three with time and space. He can hit the mid range jumper off the catch and can pull up off the dribble mostly going to his right. He finishes inside on a regular basis and he can power the ball up through contact when he catches the ball in the painted area of the floor. He is athletic and smart enough to defend the 2, 3 or 4 position because he understands how to utilize his length and keep a safe distance from the penetration dribble and still be able to keep good pressure on the ball. I think this kid will do well in coach Bo Ryan's system at Wisconsin.
