From Nairobi to Berkeley Comes Bak.

Bak Bak, a 6'10, 200 lb power forward from Village Christian High School in Northridge, CA., will play basketball at the University of California, Berkeley this Fall. Originally from Sudan, Bak has been playing AAU ball for two years, commanding the attention of recruiters from USC, Arizona State, University of Kansas and Gonzaga. After weighing his options, Bak chose Cal because of the impression Coach Mike Montgomery and the student body made on him. Bak is a versatile big man that can be effective in several spots on the court. Bak, though a big man, has the ability to stretch defenses through his surprisingly reliable shooting from the perimeter. His shooting ability makes him more a face-up 4-man at this point of his career. He sometimes relies too heavily on his perimeter shot, due in large part to the fact that he needs to increase his strength and add muscle to his frame. To his credit, he will contest shots on the defensive end and remains active on defense, but with more strength, he will become an even better post defender.
