Lance Stephenson, the 6'6, 220 lb shooting guard out of Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, NY., has committed to the University of Cincinnati to play basketball this Fall. The 6'6 Brooklyn (N.Y.) Lincoln High School player, a 2009 McDonald's High School All-American who was considered the top high school player in New York state last season, but his stock took a hit when he was accused of groping a 17-year-old girl near Lincoln High School in October of 2008. With that controversial situation hanging over his head, many coaches believe that the NCAA is expected to look into Stephenson's amateur status, which pushed schools to no longer recruit a player of his caliber. On another note, Stephenson averaged 29 points, 10 boards, and 4 dimes at Lincoln, and graduated as the all-time leading scorer in the history of the state with 2,946 points. Stephenson is most comfortable if he can get into the mid-range area of the floor, when he gets there he can pull-up for jumpers, or use his strength get all the way to the bucket for lay-ins. He has to become a much better shooter from the perimeter if he wants to contribute as an incoming Freshman this Fall.
