Micheal Chandler (6'10, 225 lb. center out of Lawrence North in Indianapolis, IN.,) has verbally committed to Xavier for the 2011-12 basketball season.
Chandler averaged 15 pts. and 8 boards last season. He is a true low post player. In addition to his skills in the paint, he is one of the best free throw shooting big men in his class.
He did not begin playing basketball until his freshman year of high school. If he stays in shape and on track in the classroom Chandler will come in and make an immediate impact for XU next season.
Last July Chandler made a verbal pledge to Louisville before rescinding this April. He also considered Providence, UCONN, and Indiana before making his choice to attend Xavier.
