Sterling Gibbs (6'1, 180 lb. point guard out of Seton Hall Preparatory School in Scotch Plains, NJ.) has committed to play for Coach Barnes and his Texas Longhorns for the 2011-12 basketball season. He was originally signed with Maryland but was granted a release from his letter of intent after long-time coach Gary Williams retired and coach Mark Turgeon took over.
Connecticut, UCLA and Texas Tech were also interested in Gibbs' talents after he re-opened his recruitment process.
