Guard Adam Brown to Join Cougars in 2009-10.

Adam Brown, 6'3, 180 lb shooting guard out of Plano, TX (Churchill/Collin County CC) will attend the University of Houston this Fall to play basketball for Cougars. He is just the shooter the Cougars needed to compliment fellow backcourt player, PG Kelvin Lewis this Fall. A major problem last year was the inability of anyone besides Lewis (especially against the Memphis Tigers) to hit a shot from beyond the arc. Adam Brown averaged 19 points, 3 boards and 2 dimes for Collin County CC in Plano, Texas. Brown was the leading scorer on a JUCO team that went 28-5 on the year, won the NTJCAC league title and ranked as high as #16 in the NJCAA. He was also named NTJCAC MVP and 1st team All-Conference. He averaged 43 percent from behind the arc and recorded 14 games with at least 20 points, including a season-high 33 points against Temple College. Adam should fit easily into head coach Tom Penders' scheme of things.
