Rayes Gallegos, a 6'3, 165 lb shooting guard out of West Jordan High School in West Jordan, UT., has committed to the University of Nebraska to play basketball for the Husker's beginning the 2009-10 season. At 6 feet, 3 inches, Gallegos knows he needs to spend time eating the weights in the weight room so he can add to his 165-pound frame. On the court, he’s comfortable playing either shooting guard or point guard; he averaged 17 points his senior season, leading West Jordan High School to a state championship. Gallegos is a lightening fast scorer that is a terror in transition and in halfcourt sets -- he is a flat out scorer and he rarely gets rattled on the floor folks. During the recruitment process Gallegos received interest from UCLA, Utah, Utah State, San Diego State, Colorado State and Weber State. Look for this kid to make an early contribution for the Husker's this Fall.
