Godwin Okonji (6'10, 215 lb. center out Findlay Prep in NV., by way of Nigeria) has committed to Loyola Marymount for the 2010-11 basketball season. Godwin Okonji was often overlooked in the Findlay Prep basketball team's starting lineup this past season, and for good reason as he played alongside the likes of point guard Cory Joseph and forward Tristan Thompson, two polished offensive players who were both selected to the 2010 24-member McDonald's All-American Team this season. However, Okonji has made a name for himself on the defensive end with his relentless shot-blocking and rebounding abilities. If he develops his offensive skills on the next level, he can be a dominant force in the painted area of the floor for the Lions in 2010.
Okonji chose the Lions over Texas Tech, Hawaii, New Mexico and TCU.
