Chris Coleman is Headed to Florida International



Chris Coleman (6'10, 270 lb. center out of Christian Life Center Academy in TX., by way of Buffalo, NY.) has committed to Florida International for the 2010-11 basketball season. Chris has the ability to score with his back to the basket, but he needs to improve his conditioning in order to make it up and down the floor in Isiah Thomas' style of play.

Coleman held high-major offers from Syracuse, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Connecticut among others.

Brandon Roy Appearance At House Of Hoops

West Virginia Signs Minnesota's All-time Leading Prep Scorer



Kevin Noreen (6'10, 190 lb. power forward out of Minnesota Transitions Charter School in Minneapolis, MN.) has now committed to the West Virginia Mountaineers for the 2010-11 basketball season. He originally signed to play at Boston College but was given a release from his letter of intent after the Eagles fired coach Al Skinner.

Noreen averaged 39 pts, 17 boards, 6 dimes, 4 cookies and 3 blocked shots per game in his senior season at Minnesota Transitions -- he also helped his team win the Class 1A state championship.

Aaron Cosby (6'2, 190 lb. point guard out of Northfield-Mt. Hermon School in MA, by way of Louisville, KY.) has verbally committed to the Seton Hall Pirates for the 2011-12 season. Cosby averaged 7 pts. per game and 5 dimes for a loaded prep school squad last season.

Poly Guard Alexis Moore Verbally Commits to USC



Alexis Moore (6'2, 180 lb. point guard out of L. B. Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, CA.) has verbally committed to the USC Trojans for the 2011-12 basketball season. Moore has recently come into his own to become a guy with major upside. He is a willing passer and he definitely has what it takes to play in the Pac-10.

Kobe "Banner" Tee-Nike Basketball




Nike has designed the Kobe "Banner" Tee to show love to the Lakeshow for winning their 16th world title. The shirt includes 16 banners (with the corresponding year the title was won on each) and is designed in a way that displays the number 16. Nine U16 Gold Medalists Headline USA U17 World Championship Team



Featuring nine players from the 2009 USA Basketball U16 Championship Team that captured gold at the FIBA Americas Championship in Argentina, the 12 member 2010 USA U17 World Championship Team was announced today. Germany's Giffey Commits To Huskies



Niels Giffey (6'6, 195 lb. small forward out of Alba Berlin in Berlin, Germany, EUR) has verbally committed to the Connecticut Huskies for the 2010-11 basketball season. Giffey can play every position except center and point guard, but UConn envisions him mostly as a shooting guard and small forward. Giffey, who will graduate from high school next week, has a good amount of experience, having played for Alba Berlin, a prestigious youth basketball team, under Henrik Rodl, a former German professional who played for Dean Smith at North Carolina.

Giffey, 19, was also considering Louisville, Michigan, Gonzaga and UCLA. He did not visit any of those schools and flew back to Germany last week. He will return to the States in July or August.

Harkless Needs More Time to Decide



Maurice Harkless (6'6, 200 lb. small forward out of South Kent School by way Queens, N.Y.) is a member of the 2011 recruiting class, but has decided to re-open his recruitment and is no longer verbally committed to Connecticut for the 2011-12 basketball season. Harkless is a big time scorer that can score inside and out, and his length and size plays a major role in what he can do on the court.

Connecticut is still on Harkless' list of schools, but Kentucky, St. John's, Seton Hall, and Fordham will be there to keep Connecticut company for Harkless and his services.

USA Under 18 Team Chosen




The USA U18 team has chosen its 12 finalists. They are: Vander Blue, Trevor Cooney, Abdul Gaddy, Josh Hairston, Kyrie Irving, Quincy Miller, Tony Mitchell, LeBryan Nash, Jereme Richmond, Austin Rivers, Amir Williams and Patric Young. They will be coached by Jeff Capel of Oklahoma, Paul Hewitt of Georgia Tech and Reggie Witherspoon of Buffalo. The team will play in the 2010 FIBA Americas U18 Championships in San Antonio (June 26-30).

Evans is Headed East



Dre Evans (5'10, 160 lb point guard out of Carter High School in Dallas Texas) has committed the Providence Friars for the 2010-11 basketball season. Evans has good quickness, a long with a great work ethic and he is a terrific leader. He averaged 22 pts and 5 dimes per game last season in route to being named All-Region and All-District 11 in his senior season. Evans also was ranked as the 19th best senior in Texas in 2010 by the Texas Basketball Report.

Wall Signs With Reebok



Yahoo! Sports is reporting that John Wall has signed a 5 year deal with Reebok for 25-milli. Looks like Reebok is trying to get back in the "athlete endorsement" game with this deal. Blake Griffin signed with Nike for $400,000 and B Jennings inked a 4-year $2 million contract with Under Armour last year. Wall's deal far exceeded those, so that's huge. He hasn't even been drafted yet and he's already getting to the money. Clap for him...

Heslip Finally Lands at Baylor



Brady Heslip (6'2, 165 lb point guard out of New Hampton School in New Hampshire, by way of Burlington, Ont. Canada) has signed to play for Baylor during the 2010-11 basketball season. Heslip enrolled early at Boston College in December, but was granted a release from his scholarship when a coaching change was made in April.

Class of 2011 Forward Daniel Gomis of Senegal Verbals to Beavers



Daniel Gomis (6'9, 220 lb. center out of The Community School in Sun Valley, ID.) is a native of Senegal, and he has verbally committed to the Oregon State Beavers beginning the 2011-12 basketball season. The scouting report on Gomis is that he is athletic, long, and strong. He dunks on people, and makes plays off the dribble like a 6-9 wing man.

Gomis was garnering interest from UCLA, UNLV, Virginia Tech and others before choosing the Beavers. In the Fall, he plans to play for prep powerhouse Oak Hill Academy.

Turson is Headed to Central Michigan



Brook Turson (6'3, 190 lb. shooting guard out of Plymouth High School in Plymouth, OH.) has committed to the Central Michigan Chippewas for the 2010-11 basketball season. Turson was once set to attend Robert Morris University before a head coaching change was made, which sparked his interest to leave.

Turson was nominated Plymouth’s All-Ohio basketball player for his great play last season.

A Legend Gone, John Wooden



It was sad to hear about the passing of John Wooden, the legendary basketball coach who did more than change lives on the hardwood. We lost a man who was not only the greatest coach in the history of sports, but one of the greatest all around human beings ever, a person whose life and influences transcends athletics. He was more than just a basketball coach, he was a man that was genuine in all of his ways --a man of his sature will be greatly missed!

Cain Commits to Arizona State



Kyle Cain (6'8, 210 lb. power forward out of New Hampton School Prep School in NH., by way of of Chicago, IL.) has committed to Arizona State for the 2010-11 basketball season after he was released from his letter of intent that he signed to Rhode Island in the Fall. Cain is a good finisher at the rim, and he rebounds with tenacity on both ends of the floor.

Cain chose the Sun Devils after he considered West Virginia. He also considered Alabama, Illinois, and North Carolina after signing with both Detroit and Rhode Island earlier in his career.

Duke no, Arizona State....yes



Carrick Felix (6'6, 195 lb. small forward out of the College of Southern Idaho in ID., by way of Glendale, AZ.) originally gave a verbal commitment to Duke for the 2010-11 basketball season, and he would have become the first junior college player the program has taken under coach Mike Krzyzewski, but Carrick was released from his letter of intent with Duke in May and will now attend Arizona State beginning the 2010-11 basketball season.

Feliz averaged 15 pts, and 5 boards at College of Southern Idaho last season and will have three years of eligibility remaining in Tempe.

Young Seeks Release from Providence



Joseph Young (6'2, 180 lb. shooting guard out of Jack Yates High School in Houston, TX.) is a member of the 2010 recruiting class and he has committed to Providence and was set to enroll this Fall. Joseph has now asked for a release, and its been reported that his request for a release is due to an ill family member.

Joseph's father, Michael Young said that the request has been denied by Providence and that Joseph plans to appeal the decision. The National Letter of Intent Program rules state that an appeal must be made within 30 days after an institution has denied a release request. The appeals process takes six-to-eight weeks.

Tharpe is on the Move



Naadir Tharpe (6'0, 170 lb. point guard out of Brewster Academy in Worcester, MA.) is a member of the 2011 class and has decided to re-open his recruitment. Tharpe gave Providence a verbal commitment in March. Its been reported that Rutgers, Wake Forest, Arizona, Miami, St. John's and Georgia Tech have already called him to express interest.

Player Spotlight: C. Kyle Caudill



Kyle Caudill (6'11, 279 lb. center out of Brea Olinda High School in Brea, CA.) is a member of the 2011-12 basketball recruiting class. After giving a verbal commitment to Arizona State only to change his mind, he is now considering Oregon State, Wake Forest, Stanford, Arizona State, USC, UCLA and Cal.

With his size, he struggles to make it up the court in transition but with a consistent strength and conditioning program he should be fine on the next level.

May 19th marked the end of the regular signing period for college basketball programs across North America and their 2010 classes, here is a rundown so far of the top 5 schools with the best recruiting classes according to the good people over at ESPN.com. These rankings are based on signed letters of intent and commitments.
